the note n.3
My 3 d's of Spring, a themed party, and a thank you
The 3 d’s of my Spring: declutter, designate, decorate
Declutter
My starting point is cleaning off or out any area that doesn’t have a purpose. A tabletop, a cabinet, etc. Here’s my rule: if it hasn’t been used all year, throw it away.
Designate
All those areas I just decluttered are now getting a purpose! I had a cabinet in our kitchen that I forgot about - yes, an entire cabinet right in the middle of the kitchen. After taking out all the pumping supplies and baby items I never even used this time around, I designated it our reusable water bottle cabinet which opened up a cabinet to better organize the kids’ plates and cups which in turn is saving my sanity.
Decorate
The finishing touch on all of this is adding the fun stuff to make the house feel fresh for spring. Fresh flowers, artificial stems, white and silver vases. The cleared spaces and fresh decor calms me so much. I haven’t truly decorated for spring in three years so I’m taking it all in and enjoying the changing of seasons while our life stays put.
Party, Partee
All of this cleaning and decluttering is partly fueled by the fact we are hosting a party for The Masters. Here’s some inspiration from Pinterest (welcome to my party theme board) and my Amazon cart that is helping it come to life. I’ll share more next month!
Here are a few non-decor things I’ve already done in preparation for party day:
Invitation and RSVP - If you’re also hosting a party for The Masters, here’s the invites I made on Canva if you want to use as well! The sizing sends perfectly over text, which is how I invited people. I also sent a link to a Google Form for RSVPs. So far, it’s been super easy to keep track of numbers and didn't cost me a dime.
Keeping day-of relaxing - I have our babysitter coming to help entertain and keep a consistent eye on our kids. She’s coming a few hours before the party so I can do finishing touches and will stay through bedtime. We are also sending our dog to our beloved dog sitter. He will have a fabulous day at her house and avoid the overwhelming energy of a party.
Hiring a “co-host” - I am hiring someone to help day-of with hosting duties. She’ll come a few hours before party time to help set up, will replenish food throughout the party, keep drinks refill, etc. Having her will allow me to truly just enjoy the party and I am excited to have her help us.
I’m catering half of the food - Donut holes (aka golf balls) brought to you by Dunkin’! I’ll also be preparing some food and have already done some trial and error before committing to the menu. We’re doing some traditional Masters food, so I’ve got a month to perfect my palmetto cheese sandwich.
sidenotes…
I have to start with the piano at this point. Still haven’t started (Ha!)
My best friend and her daughter are coming to visit in April and I am so excited!
We are planning some fun things over the kids’ spring break week. We’ve decided to stay local and drive to some Northeastern activities. We had such a good time this past summer going to the Jersey Shore, so we’re looking forward to exploring other things in this part of the country. Send me your recommendations!
I got these stems from Target and I think they are Crate and Barrel/Pottery Barn quality and look. $17 a stem - I bought three.
I recently got this Zara white cotton button long sleeve shirt. It is so cute! Think t-shirt cardigan!
Costco is truly cheaper than any other grocery store and I am shocked every time I go. They’ve grown their organic and health selections too! Costco grapes are also elite, by the way.
We are so close to my favorite temperatures: shorts and a sweater, jeans and flip-flops - SIGN ME UP.
Should I buy this bounce house? We’ve outgrown ours but I need help justifying spending this on something I have to pack up and put away after the kids are done playing for the day.
When putting these emails together, the branding keeps each note so put together and beautiful. Something I am proud of and I hope gives you a sense of calm and intention. For me, the note is my elevated escape. There are clothes and clutter scattered all over my home from three children who are loud, exciting, and full of play; but these emails are me outside of those motherhood moments. It’s the creative medium that ignites my brain in ways that have been dormant. So, thanks for gifting me your attention and time - I promise I do not take it lightly.
But enough with the mushy-gushy! TTYL, gals!

Hiring a co-host is clutch!! I provide this service to my friends when their kids have graduations, etc. I have so much fun!
Loving your notes🤍
