Gifting, A Party, and Eating my Words
Be the Favorite Neighbor
I mentioned these housewarming buckets back in No. 2 and I am obsessed with how they turned out! They are equal parts memorable and practical.
Here are the details:
Bucket - Lowes carries NFL branded buckets. Such an easy way to make this more personalized. They also have college teams and MLB!
Bucket organizer - I found Bespoke Post through Pinterest and this place is a treasure trove for cool, elevated but practical items. From what I can tell, they are a marketplace for small businesses (think curated Etsy). This was the piece that sparked the entire idea of putting these buckets together.
Items I included: Toilet paper, Clorox wipes, kitchen scissors, measuring tape, trash bags, allen wrench set, hand soap, sharpies, packing/shipping tape, vase + flowers.
Personalized touch: A card with local recommendations for food and fun family things to do and another card with local emergency services. I think these really made the buckets personal and intentional. Gives them instant connections to town!
The Masters Party
It’s amazing what you can accomplish around the house when you’re set to host a party. We are spring cleaning with a purpose! We are also thinking through how to maximize our space for the numbers we’re hosting. Our house was built in 1901, so it wasn’t designed with an open concept and hosting in mind. Here are some things we’re doing to maximize space:
Praying for good weather (haha, but really) - I really needing Mother Nature to play co-host here to really give us the space we want. We’ve got a bounce-house planned that will keep the kids outside and free up space inside. Please, Mother Nature!
Clearing out all kid toys/seating - Great excuse to clear out some toys!
Moving furniture and everyday items - tables are being moved, coffee machines are being stored, ottomans are taking the day off. It’s less about what looks good and more about what will function the best with 30+ adults and kids in a space.
If you know anything about The Masters, you know the food is just as much of a tradition as anything else. This is what we’re serving to give a nod to the tournament and keep everyone satisfied through the green jacket ceremony:
The specialty cocktail is the Azalea! Thinking about another bourbon base cocktail because a lot of the guys coming are bourbon drinkers, but also trying to decide what kinda party this is going to be. Like a party or a partay, ya know? TBD.
sidenotes…
piano… need I say more? There is no update. I’m so sorry lol
April is going to be such a fun month! Spring Break trips, friends are visiting, family is visiting, and celebrating our baby turning one. So much!!
We decided on Cape May for Spring Break! We’ve traveled a lot with our kids but this trip feels like a first for us. A last-minute getaway as family of 5 and we are so giddy about it!
I wrote in my first note that I was underwhelmed with the T3 FlexStyle Hair Styler but I think I am eating my words! I have slowly become more of a fan while using it the last few weeks at the gym. The key has been using hairspray before using the curling detachment and not trying to make it all perfect. So, if you’re looking for an affordable option, this one is good! There is a learning curve (oops lol)
I talked myself out of a 16x13 bounce house and got this 12x9 one! Big thank you to Amazon spring deals for making this more affordable.
I’m about to start posting a lot more on social media. I’ve always wanted social media to be more than just a personal thing and the way I’m approaching it right now feels different. So, throw ya girl a comment or share my posts when you see them!
Another eat my words moment: “bricking” your phone. I never understood it because I would just delete apps that I wanted to spend less time on. However, now that I am scheduling out content I can’t delete the social media apps or I’ll lose my drafts… so, I’m on the “brick” train now. I bought a 20 pack of NFC tags (which is what’s in a Brick) and use the app Foqos - Thank you Presley for putting me onto this! The Brick is $60 vs. a 20 pack of NFC tags for $6.
I’ve been putting raw sugar in my iced americano and it is so good. Little sweet crunch, yum - drinking one now!
Okay, ttyl!
